Lee Wagstaff studied at the Royal College of Art in London and Kyoto City University of the Arts in Japan graduating in 2000.
Wagstaff spent four and a half years transforming his body through tattoo into a living piece of art. Wagstaff’s tattoo designs draw strongly on his religious upbringing and consist of symbols and patterns that are found in almost every culture in the world (circles, squares, swastikas, stars etc). The photographic self portraits from this period form the exhibition ‘Baptism’.
