Born in Ireland, Stephen Dunne now works in East London. His art is generated through a process of zombified art technique, automatic drawing and pseudo-scientific occult systems.
Not so much influenced as in head on collisions with Austin Osman Spare, Philip Guston, J.G. Ballard, Comte de Lautréamont, Thomas Pynchon, Looney Toons and never ending cycles of violence, his images emerge from the inkblot, the rupture and the fracture.
Following his M.A. in Fine Art Painting at the Royal College of Art in 2001, Stephen has exhibited extensively in the UK and participated in ‘Pilot 3’ at the 2007 Venice Biennale.
